 HEMORRHOIDS

This is also known as pile, are swollen veins in the lowest part of the rectum and anus. they often result from straining during bowel movement, sitting for long periods, or due to increased pressure on these veins during pregnancy.

there are two types of hemorrhoids:

1. internal hemorrhoids: these are under inside the rectum and usually aren't visible. they generally don't cause pain but can cause bleeding during bowel movement.

2. External hemorrhoids: these are under the skin around the anus. they can be itchy or painful and sometimes bleed.

SYMPTOMS OF HEMORHOIDS may include:

  • pain or discomfort
  • itching or irritation
  • swelling around the anus
  • bleeding during bowel movements
TREATMENT OPTION INCLUDE:

  • Warm sitz baths
  • increased fiber intake to soften stools
  • Hydration
  • Avoiding prolonged sitting
  • Over the counter drugs
For treatment of hemorrhoids, several medications can be used to alleviate symptoms. these iclude:

1. topical treatments:

  • Hydrocortisone creams or ointment: reduce inflammation and itching.
  • witch hazel pads: soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Lidocaine: provides numbing relieves for pain and itching.
2.ORAL TREATMENT

  • Pain relievers: Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin can help reduce pain and discomfort.
  • stool softener: docusate sodium can help prevent straining during bowel movements.
